We visit the Elephant Nature Park, an Elephant refuge located in a 45-minute driveway north of Chiang Mai. They’ve 47 elephants which were rescued from the logging and trekking industry. Lek Chailert, is the found of this sanctuary. She began working with elephants in 1992, then in 1995 she began her first sanctuary. Her aim is to teach the world about the situation with the Asian elephants. There currently are no fences so the elephants may roam crazy 24/7!
